Dr. Meyerson is a second – generation optometrist. His father was Nelson Mandela’s optometrist in South Africa. He received his Diploma in Optometry from the Witswatersrand Technikon in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1974. Dr. Meyerson subsequently obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the University of Houston in 1979. He also studied at the London Refraction Hospital in England.
Dr. Meyerson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and the South African Optometric Association. He is a member of the Royal Society of Health and the Texas Association of Optometrists. Dr. Meyerson has received the Dennis Kenney O.D. Excellence in Eye Care Award three years in a row. He is also the immediate past chairman of the advisory board for TLC and Nvision Torrance centers.
Dr. Meyerson has been awarded the Certificate of Excellence from MESVision for providing exemplary vision care in 2015, and in 2018,and again in 2021
